There are 10 congressional working days until funding for the Department of Homeland Security runs out on February 27. In the eyes of veterans of the 113th Congress -- a group that generally started dealing with problems only after they became huge disasters, and not a moment sooner -- that's eons. Congress is scheduled to take a well-deserved break next week (they've had to work a whole month already!) and there's no sign that that won't happen.
