LOS ANGELES — What's in a name? For Charli XCX, born Charlotte Emma Aitchison, it means everything to her music career that has risen enormously in the past year on the heels of her "Fancy" collaboration with Iggy Azalea and a critically acclaimed third album.
The stage name derived from her MSN Messenger screen name "XCX," which stood for "kiss, Charli, kiss." She emblazoned flyers with "Charli XCX" for a show when she was a teenager.
